Suggested Attire for Outdoor School
"There is no bad weather, just poor clothing choices"

Winter Months- During winter months, staying dry and warm are the keys to a happy day! We recommend base layers (not cotton) followed by layers of fleece and topped with a waterproof coat. We find ski bibs and snow pants to be wonderful in the winter months! We suggest children wear waterproof insulated gloves and boots as well as two layers of socks (a thin base bare covered by a thermal wool pair). While rain boots in the Fall are great, insulated boots in the winter help keep feet warm and toasty! Ski hats etc are great for keeping ears warm. We can't say waterproof and insulated enough!! Make sure you do not dry waterproof attire in the dryer because it can damage the water proof material.
We ask that each child keep a pair of pants, gloves, socks and a shirt on the farm in case they need a dry item.
Fall and Spring- We suggest layers based on temperature and waterproof pants and coats. During the Fall and Spring, rain boots are great so long as the child is wearing comfortable socks that go above the calf to prevent ankle blisters.
Summer- Close toed shoes are required for Outdoor School. Sunscreen and Bug Spray should be applied before your child arrives to Outdoor School.
*Please do not send your child to Outdoor School in clothing they cannot get dirty in! We explore the woods and nature to the fullest. Second hand stores and Goodwill have wonderful gently used items*
